Jan 1 Thurs Philip is here still helping Rob. Uncle Rob had dinner at the other house. 1 egg. Chester Dunphy dead. (She had a brother Philip and I believe this would be who she's talking about here. Rob is her husband.)
Jan 2 Fri Chester Dunphy buried today. Rob and I attended his funeral and left Jeanie with Grandma, Mary. Got 1 egg.
Jan 3 Sat Philip went home today. Rob gone out chopping with his lunch. 1 egg.
Jan 4 Sun Jeanie lifted her little dollie today for the first time. No church today. Mary in bed all day. A week from today Cale took sick. (Jeanie is her daughter.)
Jan 5 Mon Rob took his lunch today, and has gone chopping. Lillian is using her new snow shovel. (Lillian is her oldest child.)
Jan 6 Tues A week ago today Cale died. Rob is out chopping, and taken his lunch with him. Bertha called today. Marguerite out for the first time after her operation. Jeanie 4 mths old today.
Jan 7 Wed Stella Fox gone to Normal School for her first class licence. Rob took his lunch again today. Very mild sunny day for a change. (I remember my mother talking about Stella Fox who was a teacher when mom went to school in Kingsclear.)
Jan 8 Thurs Cold blustery day. Rob hauling today.
Jan 9 Fri Colder, high wind. Rob hauling. Laura and Sam and Mary Gallagher spent the evening here.
Jan 10 Sat Robbie in town attending to United Farmers' Business from 10:30am until 1pm. Mr MacLeod here tonight.
Jan 11 Sun Church Sunday. Jeanie baptized this morning in her nightgown because Mr MacLeod had not time to wait for me to dress her. Nellie Cliff Murray at church today so Robbie said.
Jan 12 Mon Robbie hauled wood all day. John MacKay came and spent the evening.
Jan 13 Tues Robbie gone to town as a Juryman. Sent our Eaton order today.
Jan 14 Wed Robbie gone to town again to attend a meeting in Brunswick Street Church to talk over amalgamation of protestants, and saw Dad and Mr MacLeod.
Jan 15 Thurs Robbie in town attending the jury again.
Jan 16 Fri Robbie taken Crow (the colt) to town today. The first time Crow has been with the sleigh. Mary invited to Josie Murray's for tea.
Jan 17 Sat Robbie ground grain today. Very high wind which makes the snow drift.
Jan 18 Sun Regular blizzard today. Glass has not been above 4 above zero and high wind all day.
Jan 19 Mon 4th Anniversary of our wedding day. Rob ground grain all day. High wind. 10 degrees below zero.
Jan 20 Tues Rob took saw to John Jewitt's this morning, and sawed wood this afternoon. He heard that Mrs C Gallagher had fallen and broken her shoulder and the doctor was over this morning.
Jan 21 Wed Rob's 35th birthday. He went to town and attended the United Farmers' Shareholders' meeting. Randolph here to look at cattle. Got new table oilcloth.
Jan 22 Thurs Mrs Kilburn and Josie came to see Mrs Gray as they heard she was sick. Josie spent part of the day with the children and I. Rob went for the sow.
Jan 23 Fri Received our Eaton order, and my house dresses are better value than I sent for. They have one chiffonier in stock, so did not get mine, but they returned my money. Rob hauled wood all day.
Jan 24 Sat Rob gone out back to cut wood. Mary invited to Good's for tea. Have started Jeanie's stockings.
Jan 25 Sun Very cold today. Below zero. Church Sunday. Mr MacLeod spoke on "The National Campaign". Mary went to Bertha's to dinner. Minnie Kilburn much better. Mrs Campbell (her sister) is with her.
Jan 26 Mon Robbie gone out back to cut wood with his lunch. Lillian rocked Jeanie to sleep. Started to make my head cheese today. Will have to let it stand all night before removing fat. Rob gone to see Mr Webster at Charlie Kilburn's tonight. 14 below zero.
Jan 27 Tues Rob worked around home, breaking out roads.
Jan 28 Wed Rosie Francis was here this afternoon, and took the material for my silk dress and will make it home. Rob took Bill (the horse) and sleigh out back with his lunch to get out some logs. Mary made mince pies today. Made head cheese today.
Jan 29 Thurs Made mincemeat and pies, and Rob hauled wood all day. Charlie Murray here for oil tonight.
Jan 30 Fri Rob took his lunch and went cutting wood. Terrible cold. 20 below zero, high winds.
Jan 31 Sat Cold and very high wind. 22 below zero. Rob stayed home and mended harness.

Feb 1 Tues Blank
Feb 2 Wed Fred went to town for supplies. Men out back. Millen out in afternoon. Tressa and Verna up. Fred and Rene moved in.
Feb 3 Thurs I went down home with Millen and down to Ruth's about 4:15pm. Millen came down at night and brought me home. Letter from Marion.
Feb 4 Fri A lovely warm day. Thawed a lot. Millen went out to woods in afternoon and didn't come home 'till late. Mr A went to meet him.
Feb 5 Saturday Millen and Mrs A went to town and brought Ruth back with them. I got dinner. Chas M up awhile. Millen and I took Ruth down.
Feb 6 Sun Rained all afternoon. Millen took Mrs A, Tressa, John and I to Lynfield by Brockway, MacAdam and Harvey. Was to see Mr and Mrs Kane and Mr and Mrs Marshall, Tillie, Burns, etc. Left Mrs A there. (Burns was Millen's brother, Tillie was Burns' wife.)
Feb 7 Mon Ice all gone but it is snowing. We came home from Kanes', arrived about 1pm. I wrote to Ma at night.
Feb 8 Tues Millen worked with Guy all morning. Came in with a lame back and stayed all afternoon. Edie and Verna up. Millen and I down to Tressa's at night.
Feb 9 Wed Made butter yesterday. Made pancakes. Millen's back some better. Ruth, Tressa and Verna came up. Millen and I at Ruth's at night.
Feb 10 Thurs Snowed last night and blew all today. Man ran off the road and Guy hauled them out. Baked bread. Millen much better.
Feb 11 Fri Coldest day yet this winter. Millen, Mr A and Guy all worked at pulp all day. I washed Millen's underwear, made a cake.
Feb 12 Sat I got a pretty apron from Helen and a letter from Della. Millen went to Lynnfield with Francis' horse. Guy sick all morning. Ruth and Tressa up in afternoon and scrubbed. Edie came up at night. Fred over.
Feb 13 Sun Snowed a little. Edie, Tressa and I went down to church. Dinner at Tressa's and Millen brought Mrs A home and took me to Ruth's and home at night.
Feb 14 Mon Snowed all day. I have a bad cold. Guy is still not feeling well. Tressa and John up at night. I wrote to Helen.
Feb 15 Tues Cold and windy. Millen, etc, worked at pulp all afternoon. I made drop cookies. Mr A was down at Tressa's.
Feb 16 Wed Alfred King brought a note from Ruth. Tressa and Verna up a minute. Millen took Mrs A and I down to Ruth's at night. She is sick with a cold.
Feb 17 Thurs I finished my cushion cover. Quite cold out. Millen and Guy hauled pulp. Gertie Gray was here awhile before supper. Mrs A at Tressa's at night.
Feb 18 Fri Very warm today. Mrs A got a letter from Tillie. Millen worked with men at pulp. George Burrell up at night.
Feb 19 Sat A lovely sunny day. Millen and Mrs A went to town and brought Jeanie up. Millen and I went to Ruth's and played pick up sticks at night.
Feb 20 Sun Aubrey here to dinner. Nice day. Jeanie came up in afternoon. Millen and I took her to town at night and went to Ruth's. Gertie was there and will be married Wednesday.
Feb 21 Mon emerson and Jim Black came home yesterday. Wrote to Jeanie. Got a letter from Helen. Billy Man and Tressa up. Saw George go down. Millen took Guy and Emerson to town. Stayed at Ruth's. Gertie at Ruth's.
Feb 22 Tues Nice sunny day. The men hauled pulp all day to the siding. Mrs A was at Tressa's. Tressa and John up at night and Millen and I were at John's playing pick up sticks.
Feb 23 Wed Snowed at night. A cloudy day. Gertie and George were married in afternoon. Jeanie was there and I kept house for mamma. Millen, George B, Guy, Jeanie and I at shivaree at Courser's at night.
Feb 24 Thurs Men finished one pulp car and started another. Snowed all day. We read at night. Still snowing at night.
Feb 25 Fri I have a rash on my face. Snowed most all day but cleared off at night. Men hauled long wood. Fred over. George Burrell up awhile at night.
Feb 26 Sat Mrs A and Millen went to town. My rash is some better. A lovely day. Ruth came up. Millen and Mrs A in town at night. Millen and I took Ruth down. Billy Francis is in jail.
Feb 27 Sun Two little lambs born down home. Millen and I got up about 12:45 and Mrs A went over to Aubrey's. I wrote to Helen. At night, Millen and I took George B and Guy to church. To Ruth's.
Feb 28 Mon The men sawed wood. Snowed all day. Millen, Guy and George went to town. I stayed at Ruth's. We played sticks at night.
