September 1 Friday
Finished Aubrey's oats.

September 2 Saturday
Min, Pa, Ma, Aunt Alice and John went to town. Aunt Alice stayed in town. Min and I at Ruth's at night. War declared.

September 3 Sunday
Pa, Ma, Tressa and John went to camp. Aubrey to dinner. Charlie came up and took us down. Saw Jeanie and we saw Eva's baby. Chas brought us back.

September 4 Monday
Labour Day. Jeanie went down to teach school. England and France joined with Poland against Germany yesterday.

September 5 Tuesday
To Ruth's last night. Millen threshed at Arnold Trail's in afternoon.

September 6 Wednesday
Joe Hurley went to town and signed up for the army. Poor Jolie. Letter from Helen. Millen threshed at Arnold Trail's.

September 7 Thursday
Millen threshed at Arnold Trail's. Charlie M stuck pick through his foot last night. Pete up. Edie up at night. Mrs A at T's for supper.

September 8 Friday
Cloudy. Chas and Ruth up and got Ruthie. Min cut barley. Letter from Aunt Alice. I ironed. Min, Edie and I went for Ruthie at night.

September 9 Saturday
Min, Pa, Ma, Pete and John went to town. Allie came to stay with me. Burns came back with them. Tillie brought Pa and Audrey in to stay. They cried all night.

September 10 Sunday
Audrey cried nearly all day. Canada declared war on Germany. Min and I at Tressa's in afternoon. Tillie and Burns also Chas M here at night.

September 11 Monday
Rained all night last night. Burns, Em and Pantie came in. Brought some meat. Mrs A at Tressa's. Guy's cat got run over.

September 12 Tuesday
Mrs A took my wash to Tressa's and washed it. came back and bottled her pickles. Chas M up. Aubrey over.

September 13 Wednesday
Ruth came up. Aunt Alice came from town on bus. John B up. Min took Ruth down.

September 14 Thursday
I got a letter from Henny. Mr and Mrs A, Tressa and Aunt Alice went out to camp in afternoon. Cloudy. Rained a little.

September 15 Friday
Cooked and cleaned.

September 16 Saturday
Mr A and Mrs A went to town. Aunt A at Annie Francis'. Min at John's. Lovely day but awful hot. Guy came home at night.

September 17 Sunday
Guy sick all day. Ruth up. Min took Aunt Alice home. Ruthie and I to Ruth's with Ruth and Chas. Min took Pete to town.

September 18 Monday
Guy still sick. Dr down in morning. Mr A and Min went to Hanwell to yard pulp.

September 19 Tuesday
Guy no better. Ruth and Chas up. Frank F up. Dr down again in morning.

September 20 Wednesday
Ruth and Hathaway Haines up in afternoon and night. Mrs A went to see Dr Mack about Guy. Nothing serious.

September 21 Thursday
Men still yarding pulp. I got a letter from Jeanie. Ruth and Chas up awhile.

September 22 Friday
Guy can eat a little now. Chas up at night. Guy downstairs.

September 23 Saturday
Tressa came up. We made 3 pies. Letter from Flora. She's coming Wednesday.

September 24 Sunday
Rained last night. Mary Taylor here a few minutes. Guy downstairs all day.

September 25 Monday
Ruth up all day. She washed windows and scrubbed kitchen and pantry. I swept upstairs. Mrs A churned. I washed dirty didies. Men finished out back.

September 26 Tuesday
I washed white clothes and Tressa washed coloured ones. I mopped bedrooms, hall, stairs and front room. Men worked on road.

September 27 Wednesday
Tressa up. Flora and Amos came about 11:30. Flo, Amos, Tress, Ma and I to Tillie's camp in afternoon. Flo, Amos and Ma at Ruth's to supper. Rained all night.

September 28 Thursday
Ruth and Chas up and Tressa all here to dinner. Flo and Amos left for home after dinner. Ruthie and I went to Ruth's. Millen came down for us at night. Men worked around home.

September 29 Friday
Tressa took my wash home and did it with hers. Men dug potatoes. Aubrey came in at night with horse.

September 30 Saturday
Min, Ma, Renie and Tress went to town. Rained. Letter from Helen Thursday. I made cookies. Terrible thunderstorm at night.
