Very warm. All on Island. Iss, I at town afternoon.

Fine. Maggie called. Men on Island.

Cloudy. Men went home at noon. Mary went to chapel. Jim took buckwheat and wool to mill.

Very fine. Jim took Mr Kelly on Island. Ace M children came down from Settlement tonight. Mary walked home from Village.

Men all here. Fine till four o'clock then rain fast. Jim down at Sills.

Fine, warm. Rob, men came on Island. Our men on Island all day. Killed sheep.

Fog in morning. Thunder shower in afternoon. Children and I on Island in Tom's barn during the shower. Tom went home tonight on horse back. Mr Montgomery called.

Cloudy. John Sharp went home. Finished this afternoon. Had a shower. Put poultice on Jean's head.

Fine. Jim took Jean to Dr Coulthard's. Men hauled in all the barley. I picked tomatoes for pickles. Miss Brown called. Dave, Clem went home tonight.

Raining hard all night, rain all day. Jim went up to Tom's for Mrs Brundige afternoon.

Raining little. Mrs B and I go to town afternoon. It just pours all the time. I took apples to Mame. called to see Dr C about Jean's head.

Mrs B and children went down to Saint John in boat today. Jim took them to town. William only man here now. He digging potatoes. Picked on barrel of apples. Dave left for good.

William went away this morning. Jim took him to town. Moses hoeing corn. Rob packed wool tonight. Very warm and dry.

Very dry and hot. Crops are burning up with heat. Jim working on roads. One man here hoeing corn. Italian here all night.

Very dry. Jim on roads. ? hoeing corn. Uncle Rob went to Saint John.

Very dry. Jim putting green on potatoes. Moses Ephrim here. I up to see Mary Martin with Annie C.

Cloudy but not one drop of rain. Jim, Mr Allen went to town. Mary Davidson, Miss Jean Barber came by boat from Saint John. Had strawberries for tea.

Cloudy, looks like rain. Ace M here. Iss, R and girls here all day. No one went to church.

Note one drop of rain or dew. Everything is very dry. Picnic up to Uncle James'. Girls went over. Maggie, Mable called, also John and Charles Murray. No man today.

Tillie, Burns and family came up last night and stayed till tonight. Mr and Mrs Wellwood Ragun, Ruth W, Eva M, Thos Johnson here to dinner. Mrs Perry, etc.

Ma and I worked around all day. Washed windows, made doughnuts, etc.

Min's birthday. Flora and Amos came. Hennie sent me an awful pretty necklace. Flo, Amos, Ma and Pa went to Burns' for supper.

Flo, Amos, Ruthie, Aggie, Ma and I went to Ruth's. Flo and Amos had dinner at Aub's. Mrs Perry and Mrs Goulden here to dinner.

Christmas. We got a lot of lovely presents but Millen is sick. Doctor down again. Edie and Ruth up. Tillie, Burns went to Tressa's.

Tillie and Burns went back. Jeanie and Ruth up. Doctor came down again. Millen a lot better. Got more presents.

I ironed and took care of Millen. He is some better. Guy, John, etc, went back.

Dr MacK came again. Ma took sick. Doctor put her to bed. She is sick to her stomach.

Doctor down again and told Ma she could get up. Min is all better but must stay in bed a while.

A nice day but cold. Mrs Perry went home. Min and Guy went down to camp for horses. Ruth came up, also Tressa, Verna and Everett.

Millen and George B came up at noon. Guy came up with Mitch Currie in truck. Mitch's truck stalled in yard. Tressa, John and kids here at night. Guy took Millen to town.

Millen and Pa went down home for cook stove for camp. Guy and Aubrey killed a pig. Tressa up and helped with quilt.

Pa went to town. Guy, Lit Charlie and Irving went to woods. Ruth came up and helped finish quilt. I hemmed towels, mended underwear, etc.

October 1 Sunday
Rained. Aunt Annie Burrell and Mr Hay came and stayed to dinner. They went to Tressa's and Ruth's then back to supper here. Min and I at Ruth's at night.

October 2 Monday
Guy sent letter to George Burrell. Nice day. Sold some apples. Min and Pa dug Aubrey's potatoes. Chas M up. Annie Francis up.

October 3 Tuesday
Guy got letter from Flora. Lovely day. Min and Aubrey went out to Hanwell to saw and yard. Mr and Mrs A pulled mangles. Tressa up.

October 4 Wednesday
Ruth up. She scrubbed kitchen and pantry. Mr and Mrs A finished pulling mangles. Ruth brought Ruthie's new dresses and my nightie.

Charlie got a spring's bear cub in his dead fall. Ruthie and I came back home. Tillie and Burns and Pa and Ma went down to Andersonville.

Mrs Perry came today at 3pm. Ruth came up. We made 12 blocks on a quilt. Ma and Pa came home at 5pm. Chas up, also John.

Labour Day. Jeanie went down to teach school. England and France joined with Poland against Germany yesterday.

Cold and windy for August. My cold is better. Fred found a moth. We washed quilts. George and Chas helped hay.

Cool day. My cold is much better. Min and Pa went for cows. Came back at noon. We washed. Hayed all afternoon until 9 pm. I miles 2 cows and went to Tressa's.

Dull and cloudy. Ma and Aubrey went to HB's camp. Back for dinner. I ironed. We scrubbed.

Tillie, Burns and family came in for the day. Tillie and Ma went to Tressa's. Guy went to town at night.

Rained so after dinner we all went to town. Ruthie's first glimpse of town. Home and Ruthie to Ruth's all night. Burns, etc, in. St Swithin's Day. (St Swithin's Day is the day where if it rains, it's supposed to rain for 40 days, or if it is sunny and dry, it will be sunny and dry for 40 days.)

July 16 Sunday
Yesterday Ruth's birthday. Burns, etc, went to camp at 8am. Mrs A, Millen and I at Ruth's to dinner. Up home afterwards and back to camp at night.

Lovely morning. I made bread, pies, cakes and biscuits.

Rained a lot off and on all day. I washed but didn't hang out till night, it rained so. Boys worked one hour after supper.

December 1938 - Huldah

 Dec 1 Thurs Snowed a bit last night. Blew very hard all day. Very cold. Mounties came for Millen but he is going in Saturday. Millen down to John's.

Dec 2 Fri I washed my clothes. Millen has an abscess on his knee. Very sore.

Dec 3 Sat Mrs A, Burns, Aubrey and Millen in town. Got a letter from Helen. Millen's leg much worse.

Dec 4 Sun Joe H up a while. We poulticed Millen's knee all day. It is no better.

Dec 5 Mon Burns and Clarence went out Hanwell. A lovely day. Guy went to St Stephen with Emerson Payne for Burns' sleds and his cow. Tillie at Tressa's.

Dec 6 Tues Millen's leg some better. Rained all night last night and took nearly all the snow off. Guy back. Frank H here.

Dec 7 Wed Emerson has a sore finger. Millen chopped wood. Tressa up. Ice running.

Dec 8 Thurs Letter from Jeanie. Alice Ward and Blanche Urquhart married today. Men worked at Statute Labour today. Mrs A and Tressa at Ruth's.

Dec 9 Fri Men worked at Statute Labour again today. Tillie at Tressa's. Mrs A churned. Mr MacBean's horse died.

Dec 10 Sat Millen got the baby a bottle. Tillie, Millen and Em went to town and brought Burns back. They all played cards. Tillie and Burns at Ruth's. I learned a bit about cards.

Dec 11 Sun Ruth and Jeanie came up from church. Ruth and Mrs A went down to Tressa's but Ma came back. Burns and Millen went to woods.

Dec 14 Wed Tressa up a few minutes. I sent letter to Geordie Gray. Doug Kilburn and Velma Libby married. Guy and Em went to shivaree. Ma at Tressa's.

Dec 15 Thurs Terribly cold. I washed. Tressa up a while in morning and in afternoon too. She and Mrs A made fruit cakes.

Dec 17 Sat Nobody went to town today. I got a card announcing arrival of Helen's baby Tuesday. We sent cards.

Dec 18 Sun Jeanie and Ruth came up and I was at Tressa's for dinner and supper. John, Tressa, etc, came up with me at night.

Dec 19 Mon I cleaned and mopped upstairs, also made a gingerbread and washed.

Dec 20 Tues We washed Tillie's clothes and cooked, etc. Tressa's Eaton order never came.

Dec 21 Wed I went to Tressa's in morning. She came back with me and made Tillie's fruit cake.

Dec 22 Thurs I did big wash and went to school concert in  afternoon with Tressa. Edie to supper. Em to town.

Dec 23 Fri Beautiful day. I made date squares. I got up early. We cooked and cleaned all day. Scrubbed.

Dec 24 Sat Guy an Ma went to town and came back at 5pm. Millen and Burns came home in morning. Millen and I went to town at night. Went to bed at 1am.

Dec 25 Sun Christmas Day. A nice day but cloudy. Had a merry Xmas and loads of presents. Here to dinner and down home to supper. HB at Tressa's.

Dec 26 Mon Tillie sick all day. Dr down in afternoon. Down again at night. Baby Audrey Helen born at 6:55pm weight 8 pounds.

Dec 27 Tues Tillie is fine. Millen and Burns went to woods. Tressa up also Edie helped all day. Joe H up in evening.

Dec 29 Thurs Edie still at Ruth's. Annie, George here and washed. I hung out clothes. Ruthie has been bound up but is better.

Nov 10 Thurs Snowed for the first time today. Millen and Pete came up at night. Millen stayed all night.

Nov 11 Fri Edie and I each cooked a cake and George, Edie, baby and I went down home for YPS Social evening. I stayed.

Nov 12 Sat Jeanie helped me up with the carriage today. Millen, Guy, Tillie, Burns and children all moved up tonight. Guy to town.

Nov 28 Mon Baby's first tooth. Tressa found it. A beautiful day and sunny. I took baby to Tressa's to supper. Millen came down and helped me up.

Nov 29 Tues Baby's second tooth. Snowed all afternoon and evening. Ruth came up. Tillie washed. I ironed my skirt Flo gave me.

Aug 1 Mon Charlie went to work. I got up early for ice cream man. Millen left his boots here. Clifton down.

Aug 3 Wed Baby weighs 9 3/4 lbs. Aubrey down. His little boy died last night. Bobby Anderson came. Ruth went up home.

Aug 4 Thurs Jeanie and Bobby, Guy, Helen went to pictures. Aubrey's baby's funeral. Ruth went. Aubrey took Ruthie and I up to see Dr MacK. He gave me some pills.

He was born in Aug 1936 so would have been about 2 years old at the time of this journal entry so I guess it could be him she was talking about.)

Jun 6 Mon Store robbed last night. Mr Evans (Mountie) up and looked it over. Joe H went to F Kilburn's and got a job. Millen home at night.

Jun 7 Tues Mr Evans up again. Millen still home. He went to town but didn't see the Mountie.

Jun 8 Wed I got a letter from Helen.

Jun 10 Fri Mountie up. ruth and I went picking flowers at the creek. A lovely day. Jeanie's graduation day. I kept store.

Jun 11 Sat Millen went to town and got me bedroom slippers at night. Jeanie down awhile at night. Chas home.

Jun 12 Sun I took cramps in morning at 5 o'clock. Dr came in afternoon, also Mum. Sick all evening.

Jun 13 Mon Baby born at 1:30am. Weighed 6 3/4 pounds. I feel much better in afternoon. Mrs Anderson down. Mounties caught the store breaker.

May 1 Sun Millen went to Ruth's with Joe Hurley at night. Rained in daytime. Edie Burrell and Christine and George Burrell came up.

May 2 Mon Nice day but windy. Millen went to Ruth's all day. I packed my things. Tressa and John came up at night. Tillie at Francis'.

May 3 Tues Very windy. Burns came home at noon and prepared for camp tomorrow. I was at Tressa's. She and John up.

May 4 Wed Millen and I moved to Ruth's. Some men helped move the piano and put the bed up. I walked down about 9am.

May 5 Thurs Millen and Burns went to build a camp. Ruth went up to her mother's with Lee Hanson. Margie M up.

May 6 Fri We painted the counter and windows of store. Margie and Bessie up awhile. Millen and Burns came home at night.

May 10 Tues Rained at night. I walked up to Anderson's. Aubrey brought me back and I kept store while Ruth went up. I wrote to Dr M yesterday. Charlie came home for a while.

May 11 Wed Cloudy and some rain. Charlie came home with order from Kitchen Brothers. Ruth and I popped corn. Rained. Earle M and Alf King here.

May 13 Fri Charlie came home at noon. Rained all day and night. I wrote to Helen yesterday. Mum and Dad went to the play.

Apr 1 Fri Ice moved a little. April Fools' Day. Ruth and Edie both up. Mrs A churned. Millen sawed at John's. Millen and I took Ruth and Edie down home to hear Louis-Thomas fight. Louis won.

Apr 2 Sat All went to town but Guy, Millen, Mr A and me. Ice ran towards night. Ran nearly all night. Millen and I at Ruth's. Had corn scallop. Letter from Helen.

Apr 3 Sun Millen's throat awful sore. Ice still running. George B and Allie here. Ruth came up at night. Millen drove her home.

Apr 4 Mon Duck layed an egg. Ice stopped running. I got a quilt block from Pauline Thompkins. Millen and Guy went to town to see doctor. Chas M up.

Apr 5 Tues Ice still jammed. Washed hankies for Millen. Snowed last night but all melted before night. Millen and I at Kilburn's and Tressa's.

Apr 8 Fri Mrs A and Tressa went to Ruth's with Charlie. Tillie scrubbed and I cooked. Millen and I to Ruth's at night. Men sawed Guy's wood.

Apr 9 Sat Millen and Burns got gas at Kelly's for a man. Snowed all day. Some hail. Geroge B up at night.

Apr 10 Sun Snowed and is very windy. Aubrey and Lit Harvey over in afternoon. Mrs A went back to supper. She was at Tressa's at night. Bill H here.

Apr 11 Mon Ethel Francis up. Snowy. Men hauled logs and wood. Mrs A at Tressa'. Baby's picture came. Tressa and John up at night. Emerson came home.

Apr 12 Tues Tressa and Verna up. We made quilt patterns. Millen sawed at Fred's. Some snow on yet. Millen and I at Tressa's.

Apr 13 Wed Nice day. Chas Mills came up and took me down to Ruth's. Millen came after me at night. Fred Freeman here all night.

Apr 14 Thurs Men split wood all day. A nice warm day. Charlie M and Joe H up to dinner. Chas got a muskrat in trap.

Apr 15 Fri Jeanie came home last night. Ruth came up in afternoon. Stayed till Chas went home from river. Wants us to take store.

Apr 16 Sat Easter card from Flo and Amos. Day before Easter. Mr and Mrs A, Tillie and Burns went to town. Millen went to Moffat's but came back about 10am. Millen and I at Ruth's and up home for eggs. Saw Jeanie. (Flo and Amos are Millen's sister, Flora, and her husband, Amos Steen, who lived in Patton, Maine.)

Apr 17 Sun Easter Sunday. Had Cream Pie with Easter eggs. Tillie and Burns went to Ruth's. Jeanie came up after supper. Jim Scott here.

Apr 18 Mon Millen and Emerson sawed at Moffat's. Home about 2pm. Tressa up in morning. Chas Mills up at night. Tressa and John up at night.

Apr 19 Tues Tillie's 21st birthday. Frank Freeman here a while. Cleaned stove in kitchen. Burns sick with cold. Mrs A at Tressa's.

Apr 20 Wed A lovely day. I went down home with Chas M. Jeanie and I at Ruth's to tea. Yankie, Pearly, etc, there. Millen and I went back up home afterwards.

Apr 21 Thurs A nice warm day. I got a letter from Helen. Verna and Everett up and I went to Tressa's. Millen took Bus crowd to town.

Apr 22 Fri Nice day but cloudy. Ruth up with Charlie awhile. Men worked at cars. Got their fertilizer. Guy, Millen, Mrs A and I played sticks at night.

Apr 23 Sat Millen and Aubrey went to town. Mrs A sick with cold. Tillie washed. Mr Grant built the chimney. Tressa up. George B and Bill Hamilton here at night.

Apr 24 Sun Ruth came up and stayed all day. A lovely warm day. Tillie, Burns and Guy went to Lawrence Station. Mrs A and little Flora at Tressa's. Millen and I at Charlie and Ruth's.

Apr 25 Mon Mrs A churned and Tressa and her washed. I made a pie. Franklin and Chas M up. George B up at night.

Apr 26 Tues Tillie, Burns, etc, came home about 11am. Millen went for Ruth and brought her up. We were down home awhile at night.

Apr 27 Wed Millen went to town. Walter Myshrall died yesterday, buried this morning. Tressa up and helped clean.

Apr 28 Thurs Millen went to town for his supplies for store. Came back at supper time. I went to Ruth's with him and saw the store.

Apr 29 Fri Millen and Burns went to town. Flo, Amos and Helen came. We went to Ruth's. Ruth and Charlie came up at night. Rained all evening.

Apr 30 Sat Flo brought me some lovely things. Tressa and John up to dinner. Went home after dinner. Millen and Mrs A at Ruth's. Millen took Burns to Harvey.

March 1938 - Huldah

Mar 1 Tues Very cold and windy. Engine froze last night so could not saw. Sent Helen's letter. Send Tillie's clothes tomorrow. Mrs A at Tressa's.

Mar 2 Wed Very cold. Men hauled pulp all day. Aubrey's baby sick. Millen went down to Ruth's at night. Car ran out of gas and Charlie towed him home.

Mar 3 Thurs Very cold and windy. Mr A out all day. Millen got the car out in afternoon. Tressa and John, Maude Trim and Charlie up at night. Present from Aunt Dolly.

Mar 4 Fri A lovely day but cold. Fight between Baer and Barland. Gertie and George's shower. Jeanie and Ruth came up. Millen, Guy, Emerson, George B all went down to Billy's trial. Tressa up. Millen down to Charlie's. Millen took Guy, Billy, Franklin.

Mar 5 Sat Snowed. Men sawed some. Donald Kilburn here. Played sticks at night. George Burrell stayed up all night.

Mar 6 Sun A lovely day. Jeanie came up, also Ruth. Mrs A at Tressa's. Millen and I took Ruth and Jeanie down and listened to radio.

Mar 7 Mon Nice day. Men finished sawing pulp here. Eaton order came. Tressa and Verna up. Millen took saw down to C Murray.

Mar 8 Tues Millen sawed at C Murray's. I stayed at Ruth's all day. Was up home a minute. Ruth made me a hoover dress, awful pretty.

Mar 9 Wed Sunny but sind is very cold. Millen sawed at J Black's. Millen and I went to Kelly's store for gas for engine at night.

Mar 10 Thurs Millen sawed at Black's all day and finished. Tressa and Verna came up. Ruth up and Millen and I.

Mar 11 Fri Edith came up to supper. Tressa and Verna up awhile. At night Millen, George B, Emerson, Edie and I all went to Ruth's to hear Baer/Farr fight.

Mar 12 Sat Snowed so Millen couldn't saw. He and Ma went to town. Ruth and Charlie went too. Snowed a little at night.

Mar 13 Sun Snowed all day. Ruth and Charlie came up in afternoon and stayed to supper. Millen and I read books.

Mar 14 Mon Sent quilt patterns to Flo and Helen. Tressa up and did scrubbing. Mr Ashley here. Billy Buckley here at night. Millen sawed at Jim's.

Mar 15 Tues Millen sawed at Collicott's. Finished about 4pm. Tressa and Verna up awhile in morning. Read books at night.

Mar 16 Wed A lovely warm spring day. Millen and I took Mrs A to Ruth's. She stayed at Ruth's all day and we went for her at night. She was at church. Letter from Gertie.

Mar 17 Thurs Nice and warm. Snowed last night. St Patrick's Day. Verna and Everett up in afternoon. Millen, Edie, George B and I went to church.

May 18 Fri Burns came at 3am. Millen and he went back for Tillie. Chas Mills came up and took me to Ruth's. We went to church. I stayed all night.

May 19 Sat Ruth and I finished quilt. Millen, Guy, etc, came down and got me at night. Tillie, etc, came home. Fannie Myshrall died.

Mar 20 Sun Very warm and thawing. We got up at dinner time. Millen not very well. Tillie and Burns at Tressa's.

Mar 21 Mon Tillie washed. Millen came home sick at noon. He took some aspirins and went to bed. Fannie M's funeral.

Mar 22 Tues Millen very sick last night but better today. Sent Helen's letter. Tressa and Ruth up. Papered and scrubbed. Millen up at noon. Yank and Melba here.

Mar 23 Wed Mr and Mrs A went to town. I have a sore throat. Burns very sick last night but is up today. Tressa up.

Mar 24 Thurs Millen better but I have a sore throat. Mrs Anderson not well.

Mar 25 Fri Gertie Courser's baby boy born at 3am. Ruth came up and Millen and I took Guy and her down home. George C was there.

Mar 26 Sat Millen, Mr & Mrs Anderson went to town. I stayed at Ruth's. I started taking Lydia P's Vegetable Compound.

Mar 27 Sun Snowed last night. My cold is a little better. Little George is sick. Jeanie came up. Guy at Tressa's.

Mar 28 Mon Cloudy. Men all went out back. Chas Mills up, also Tressa. Aubrey split wood. Little George still sick.

Mar 29 Tues Men all went to Billy's trial but couldn't get in. Millen got me some toothpaste and brush. Our colds are some better. Snowed.

Mar 30 Wed Oswald Gray and Randolph Kilburn up for machine. Millen sawed at Randolph's. I went down home and to Ruth's at night. Letter from India.

Mar 31 Thurs Snow all off. Cloudy. Millen still sawing down the road. He finished at Gray's and Kilburn's. George Burrell here at night.

January 1920 - Grace

Jan 1 Thurs Philip is here still helping Rob. Uncle Rob had dinner at the other house. 1 egg. Chester Dunphy dead. (She had a brother Philip and I believe this would be who she's talking about here. Rob is her husband.)

Jan 2 Fri Chester Dunphy buried today. Rob and I attended his funeral and left Jeanie with Grandma, Mary. Got 1 egg.

Jan 3 Sat Philip went home today. Rob gone out chopping with his lunch. 1 egg.

Jan 4 Sun Jeanie lifted her little dollie today for the first time. No church today. Mary in bed all day. A week from today Cale took sick. (Jeanie is her daughter.)

Jan 5 Mon Rob took his lunch today, and has gone chopping. Lillian is using her new snow shovel. (Lillian is her oldest child.)

Jan 6 Tues A week ago today Cale died. Rob is out chopping, and taken his lunch with him. Bertha called today. Marguerite out for the first time after her operation. Jeanie 4 mths old today.

Jan 7 Wed Stella Fox gone to Normal School for her first class licence. Rob took his lunch again today. Very mild sunny day for a change. (I remember my mother talking about Stella Fox who was a teacher when mom went to school in Kingsclear.)

Jan 8 Thurs Cold blustery day. Rob hauling today.

Jan 9 Fri Colder, high wind. Rob hauling. Laura and Sam and Mary Gallagher spent the evening here.

Jan 10 Sat Robbie in town attending to United Farmers' Business from 10:30am until 1pm. Mr MacLeod here tonight.

Jan 11 Sun Church Sunday. Jeanie baptized this morning in her nightgown because Mr MacLeod had not time to wait for me to dress her. Nellie Cliff Murray at church today so Robbie said.

Jan 12 Mon Robbie hauled wood all day. John MacKay came and spent the evening.

Jan 13 Tues Robbie gone to town as a Juryman. Sent our Eaton order today.

Jan 14 Wed Robbie gone to town again to attend a meeting in Brunswick Street Church to talk over amalgamation of protestants, and saw Dad and Mr MacLeod.

Jan 15 Thurs Robbie in town attending the jury again.

Jan 16 Fri Robbie taken Crow (the colt) to town today. The first time Crow has been with the sleigh. Mary invited to Josie Murray's for tea.

Jan 17 Sat Robbie ground grain today. Very high wind which makes the snow drift.

Jan 18 Sun Regular blizzard today. Glass has not been above 4 above zero and high wind all day.

Jan 19 Mon 4th Anniversary of our wedding day. Rob ground grain all day. High wind. 10 degrees below zero.

Jan 20 Tues Rob took saw to John Jewitt's this morning, and sawed wood this afternoon. He heard that Mrs C Gallagher had fallen and broken her shoulder and the doctor was over this morning.

Jan 21 Wed Rob's 35th birthday. He went to town and attended the United Farmers' Shareholders' meeting. Randolph here to look at cattle. Got new table oilcloth.

Jan 22 Thurs Mrs Kilburn and Josie came to see Mrs Gray as they heard she was sick. Josie spent part of the day with the children and I. Rob went for the sow.

Jan 23 Fri Received our Eaton order, and my house dresses are better value than I sent for. They have one chiffonier in stock, so did not get mine, but they returned my money. Rob hauled wood all day.

Jan 24 Sat Rob gone out back to cut wood. Mary invited to Good's for tea. Have started Jeanie's stockings.

Jan 25 Sun Very cold today. Below zero. Church Sunday. Mr MacLeod spoke on "The National Campaign". Mary went to Bertha's to dinner. Minnie Kilburn much better. Mrs Campbell (her sister) is with her.

Jan 26 Mon Robbie gone out back to cut wood with his lunch. Lillian rocked Jeanie to sleep. Started to make my head cheese today. Will have to let it stand all night before removing fat. Rob gone to see Mr Webster at Charlie Kilburn's tonight. 14 below zero.

Jan 27 Tues Rob worked around home, breaking out roads.

Jan 28 Wed Rosie Francis was here this afternoon, and took the material for my silk dress and will make it home. Rob took Bill (the horse) and sleigh out back with his lunch to get out some logs. Mary made mince pies today. Made head cheese today.

Jan 29 Thurs Made mincemeat and pies, and Rob hauled wood all day. Charlie Murray here for oil tonight.

Jan 30 Fri Rob took his lunch and went cutting wood. Terrible cold. 20 below zero, high winds.

Jan 31 Sat Cold and very high wind. 22 below zero. Rob stayed home and mended harness.
